The coil in a dynamic microphone is usually made of copper wire and connected to the microphone diaphragm, which is usually made of the lightest plastic. The magnetic field of the electric microphone is formed by a built-in permanent magnet. When sound pressure acts on the microphone diaphragm, the diaphragm vibration drives the coil connected to it to vibrate. The coil as a conductor vibrates in the magnetic field formed by the permanent magnet to cut the magnetic lines of induction and generate an induced current, which will act on the microphone diaphragm. The acoustic signal is converted into an electrical signal for output.
The design of electric microphones is based on Faraday's theorem, that is, when a conductor moves in a magnetic field, current will be generated in the conductor. The conductor has two designs in electrodynamic microphones, namely coil and aluminum. A dynamic microphone with a coil as a conductor is a dynamic microphone, and a dynamic microphone with an aluminum ribbon as a conductor is an aluminum ribbon microphone.
